With the installation of LED lights at railway stations, offices and residential areas in Raichur and Yadgir, these LED lights belong to the Guntakal division of the Central South Railway (SCR)

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal set June 30 as the deadline for the implementation of the project with the aim of saving power and reducing carbon emissions by using LED bulbs instead of traditional bulbs at all train stations across the country.
According to the instructions, the SCR officer took action and completed the project by the deadline.
There are six departments under SCR.

Umashankar Kumar, chief public relations officer, SCR, said it was a proud moment for all officials, staff and electrical departments of the SCR who contributed significantly to achieving this goal.
Senior Professional Shakeel Ahmed said that as of the end, 1,35, 417 LED lamps were installed in all 733 train stations and 1,424 service buildings under SCR

The cumulative effect of the total amount of energy-saving LED lighting on SCR is the power savings of 82 lakh units, and the area saves 7 crore per year.
He said that the impact of carbon emissions will be reduced by 7,372 tons a year, which will make a huge contribution to the green environment. Mr.
Kumar also said that by providing 100% LED lamps and lanterns, replacing the traditional bulbs of 291 railway residential quarters in the region, the goal of 23,740 was achieved.
This is expected to lead to 35 years of electricity savings.
In addition to reducing carbon emissions by 3,187 tons, 4 lakh units per year are equivalent to 3 crore.
